Fine-Tune the Colorful Summit Guide

by Sherri Henkin on May 5, 2016

TE SIG bagThis week I revisited the Summit Guide and focused on Strategy 3. Looking at my highlighted hard copy, I realized I do need a clone—preferably several clones—because there are at least three sessions in each block I want to attend!Concurrent Conflicting Workshops

I re-read the workshop descriptions and paid attention to the tracks. Great news! Some of the simultaneous workshops are during Progression Sessions, which means I can attend more than one workshop in the time slot!

Now what about the other 75% of the conflicts?

While looking at the online schedule, I noticed that if I logged in, I could create a customized calendar. How convenient! I can weed out the topics that don’t apply, view my personal schedule on my mobile device, and print out the hard copy. I’m still left with multiple simultaneous activities, yet the schedule is more readable now. By including some of my second, third or fourth choices, I’ve left room for onsite changes. Just refer to the schedule and go to one of those other workshops.

About the only activity left is to pack my bag, and the bag of goodies for the Technical Editing SIG Welcome Reception table!
