Welcome to LASTC’s new website!

by Lorraine Carlson on March 15, 2012

Hello fellow technical communicators of Greater Los Angeles with a warm welcome for our newest San Fernando and San Gabriel Valley members.

This week, LASTC launched its new website and blog. With this being the first blog post, we wanted to highlight what this blog is about, upcoming events, and how to get involved in your local LASTC chapter.

This blog will serve as a weekly posting of local tech comm events, LASTC volunteer opportunities, professional tools and training opportunities, job resources, professional meetings, book reviews, guest posts, and in a nutshell, anything tech comm.

March Local Events

Chapter Dinner Meeting: The Learning Professional by Beth Gerber
Join us for an informative evening with Beth Gerber of Lightext, Inc. where she will speak on how writing and training professionals can develop and market themselves as key assets to any organization. This is a fantastic networking and learning opportunity; we look forward to seeing you there.

Lunch Forums: Burbank, Culver City, LAX, and Torrance
Come join us for lunch. Our lunch forums are casual gatherings organized by fellow LASTC members on a monthly basis with the purpose of providing networking opportunities and a forum for discussing topics of interest to the tech comm professional.

San Fernando and San Gabriel Valley members, if you are interested in organizing a lunch forum in your area, please contact volunteers@lastc.org.

Get Involved in LASTC

  • Volunteer for LASTC’s council and help our chapter stay strong and vibrant.
  • Bring your questions, ideas, knowledge, and desire to develop as a tech comm professional and join us for lunch.
  • Contact us with your ideas for blog posts, webinars, dinner meetings, and how LASTC can continue to serve technical communicators of Greater Los Angeles.
